Technical Advisory: Patch Deployment Failures Caused by Unsigned Patch Cab File Published by Microsoft

Tanium Windows patch deployments may fail due to an unsigned .cab file published by Microsoft during the May patch Tuesday (May 10, 2016).

Affected Customers
Tanium customers using the "Tanium Patch" or “Windows Security Patch Management” solutions. Check your Authoring -> Solutions tab to see if you are using either of these solutions.

Microsoft has republished a .cab file with the correct digital signature.  Depending on your network, it may take several days for the corrected .cab file to make it through Microsoft’s content distribution network.

Follow the steps in the following KB to work around this issue until the unsigned .cab file is no longer present in Microsoft's content distribution network.

Reach out to your TAM if you have any additional questions.
